residential refresh

Stately Georgian

A previous living room arrangement limited more relaxed entertaining and gathering.  Fritz sought to unify the space, creating an inglenook feel around the generous fireplace with an English club fender and paired leather loveseats.  Their complementary tone to the Rookwood tile allowed the artwork to take center stage.  The owner sought a true collaboration in sourcing antiques from dealers who could trace provenance from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.  Silk damask drapery recedes to echo the burled gum woodwork and ochre linen-effect wall finish.

Curated Finds

working with a designer can open a global network of dealers beyond antique stores and auctions.  For these clients, discovering the stories behind the pieces enriched their appreciation, whether a celarette as a low cocktail table, a William & Mary high-boy, or a table discovered to be the companion to one in the Duke of Rutland's collection.
