Residential New-build
Polished Contemporary
The planning stage is the ideal point to join a project team. It ensures there are no missed opportunities. Owner and builder met with Fritz while the home was in the framing stage. The owners shared their inspiration images, which were dramatically contemporary and gallery-like. Those cues led to serene, white finishes accented by a trio of fine wood species (dark and light rift oak along with mahogany). Wherever possible Fritz ensured lighting was recessed to allow surfaces to glow, and deeply-toned hot-rolled steel introduced an industrial modernism.
With much of the interior architecture still fluid, Fritz could suggest design elements that turned out to be the most dramatic features. The wife had always envisioned a glass walkway, and introducing a fountain with a monumental stone wall defined the stair core, which Fritz detailed with the steel, warmed by rift-oak risers and glass balusters.
